Behind the Scenes

Some of my most favourite things in the world are the windows at Bergdorf Goodman, and especially the holiday ones.
I wish I had just headed out to NY 20 years ago and gotten a job there.  It would be the perfect environment and creative endeavor for me. But, life intervened, and I did not, but I raise a toast to the amazing artists who do create them, as they are nothing less than miraculous!
Watch this wonderful video from BG, a montage of images and film about the creative on these.
Very magical, wonderful music, certainly to get you in the mood of "Santa's workshop"!

Thank You, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles!

I have been given the grandest compliment by
 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine,
and it's editor, Clinton Ross Smith!

Never in a million years did I ever think I would become a "cover girl" at this point, especially after a long day of styling, no make-up, no hair.....!

Clinton is doing an amazing job of making this one of the most interesting magazines out there!  I truly think he is one to watch in the magazine world... and I do not say that because he "tricked" me into that photo and then put it on the cover!

Mali Azima, who shot my feature is a tiny little dynamo, with a great eye and flawless skill!

Not one to toot my horn, but have gotten so many kind comments and nudges to share, that I finally could not keep quiet any longer!

Time Flies....

It has been 2 weeks since I last posted, much to my surprise, but I have been flat on floor with a pinched nerve most days so creating has taken a back-seat lately.
The lovely thing of being laid low is that I am able to catch up on my reading ... pile of books on my bedside table, awaiting me.
I shall start with COUNTRY by Jasper Conran .
Absolutely brilliant in verse and most especially photography and evoking a sense of time and place. I am reminded of the countryside of my very early years spent in England and then, also of the American south, to which I was transplanted, and its' swamp, moss, shade, and secret.
The photography here is beautifully, lyrically inspiring. Never so have I wished to plant corn, pickle something, and be a country vagabond as when I look at these pages. Glorious!
I highly recommend!

Next, a book I posted about recently that looked most interesting to me, CAFE SOCIETY.

It's amazing... Oversized, starts with a magnificient description of the Bestingui ball, and proceeds from there to describe and enlighten to the most interesting, creative, eccentric creatures of the haute monde ever to exist.
The lay-out of the book is great, the photography absolutely stupendous, all sort of surprises that even I have never seen.
 A gem!
And, that photo of Barbara Hutton on the cover could not be better!!!
